In my teaching service, I have been into a wide range of schools across the whole primary age range and seen the many different ways schools have faced the various challenges posed by educational changes over the years. I am therefore equipped with an armoury of experience which I could bring to bear in the new post.

I have always been in demand, because those schools that have used my services have recognised my commitment and industry, and have been keen to welcome me back. Since the introduction of the National Curriculum, I have been working almost full-time, gaining experience of its implementation in a variety of schools and year groups. The chart below of my career demonstrates this.

The break in service in 1976-8 was after the birth of my son. I believe in the importance of family life and this is why for some years I taught on supply and contracts. When my children were older, I was able to offer the full time commitment once again. My daughter was born early in 1981, and the break in 1985 was due to the serious illness of my mother. In 2002-3 I took a sabbatical and an extended visit to my daughter in the USA.

As may be seen from the above chart, my experience covers the whole primary age range. The chart below amalgamates these to make this point.

I therefore offer a school a rare breadth and balance of experience giving great organisational flexibility, along with complete commitment. This represents real value for money in terms of a tight school budget.
