After seeing a mention of !Gutenberg by David Llewellin-Jones I thought that StrongED could be used to do the same job of preparing Project Gutenberg etexts for display, but with some advantages.
It removes headers and footers, reformats in various ways and substitutes for quotes and others conventional marks used in Project Gutenberg.
