We spent our first night in France, on 13 August, at Le Manoir in
BONNINGUES LES ARDRES, a short drive from Calais.
(see the web site) Our room at the top left in this restored manor house was furnished traditionally.
There were only two other guests. At least four staff prepared and served an excellent dinner, preceded by an aperitif on the lawn and accompanied with wines to complement each course.
