Location. Ideally located for exploring the West of Cornwall - situated 2 miles north of Helston on the A394 Falmouth road. A large white house with its own driveway adjacent to the Jet Filling Station in the tiny village of Trevenen.
The house. The house believed to be over 450 years old was extensively renovated at the turn of the last century and the gables from which it gets its name were added at this time. Ample parking space is available next to the house.
Accommodation. All the rooms have wash-hand basins with hot and cold water. Mirrors and vanity lights with shaving sockets are provided.
Three bedrooms (maximum of six guests at any time) share two large bathrooms all on the first floor. One bathroom has a bath and a shower the other has a shower cubicle.
All rooms have central heating, double beds, modern colour TV and Tea / Coffee making facilities.
A Family suite consisting of a double room leading to another twin bedded room is available.
The Residents Lounge / Dining room is on the ground floor. Cards and a variety of games are available for rainy days. Hair dryers are available for residents use.
A pleasant garden at the rear of the house has tables and chairs for residents to relax in.
Guests are provided with a house key to allow access at any time during their stay.
The proprieter's accommodation is self contained on the ground floor.
Meals. A comprehensive breakfast menu including Orange Juice, Cereals, Toast and Preserves, Tea / Coffee and full English breakfast with alternatives is included in the price.
Local Pubs and Restaurants are plentiful and within a 15 mile radius of the house most tastes and budgets can be catered for.
Attractions. The Gables is an ideal centre for touring the western area of Cornwall. Cyclists and walkers are welcome.
10 minutes drive. Flambards Theme Park. Poldark's Mine. Gweek Seal Sanctuary. Helston Golf and Leisure Club. Towns of Helston and Porthleven.
20 minutes drive. Goonhilly Downs. Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens. Praa Sands. The Lizard peninsula with its many bays and beaches. Mullion Golf Club. Praa Sands Golf Club. Falmouth, Truro, Camborne, Redruth and miles and miles of coastal paths.
30 minutes drive. St Michaels Mount. Penzance and St Ives. Shire Horse Centre. Cornish Mines and Tramway. Numerous other tourist attractions including Stately Homes and Castles.
1 Hours drive. Newquay, Mevagissey, Padstow, Fowey, Lands End and Bodmin. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project.
