Steve played most of his career at left back, but has played in three cup finals as a midfield marker. He scored the winning goal aginst Sheffield Wednesday in the 1993 Coca-Cola cup final, before Tony Adams dropped him in the after match celebrations breaking his arm! He stepped in at the last minute in our Cup Winners Cup victory over Parma, and came on as a substitute against Zaragoza in Paris. Steve was born in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, on July 2, 1970 and joined Arsenal as a trainee in the summer of 1987 after a year playing in Bangor's Irish League side. He won a F.A youth cup winners medal in 1988 before making his first team debut against Norwich in 1992. He has been on loan to Reading (twice), Watford and Barnet.
