John was born on April 5th, 1975 and became a record signing for a British teenager when we bought him for £2.5m from Luton in January 1995. He made his debut against Everton and made himself Ian Wright's regular strike partner. He scored the equaliser against Zaragoza in the 1995 Cup Winners Cup final. Hartson is a Welsh under-21 international but is expected to break into the full team very soon.
