John Smith is the managing director of Dennis Trucks and Busses in Guildford. I wanted to include him because he represents one on the oldest and most well known businesses in surrey, also a majot employer. The other reason, of course, is that like all small boys I still love buses and fire engines, and John Smith's company is one of the last in Britain to still make them. This shot took 3 hours to set up. He was sittng (remarkably coolly, I felt) on the edge of one scaffolding tower, I perched atop another and there were lights and cables all around us both, 12ft up in the air. In the background you can see the production line and a   coach chassis under construction.
