G60    2 JOHN

The second letter of John does not have such close affinity with the Fourth Gospel as the former letter does. It is difficult to ascertain who the "Elder" John may be. Commentators may propound theories about him and the "Elect Lady" (a Church?) but such considerations are of little importance. The message is plain "Beware of false prophets, deceivers and Antichrists!".
