Forth Valley got burned when the Senators youth team travelled north and maintained their winning 100% streak with 40-18 victory
The senior team fared less well against the Trojans, losing 36 - 8 and falling to a 50% record so far.

After last week's drastic away loss, the Senators regained some ground with a draw.
They tied 12 points each at home with Merseyside Nighthawks to bring the season to 3-2-1. A win next week away in Scotland is the next target.

After a promising opening run to the season, the Senators crashed to defeat at the hands of long time rivals, East Kilbride.
After last week's narrow loss at Doncaster, this brings Gateshead to 5-3. They will be looking to recover momentum for the next home fixture against Merseyside in two weeks.

Both the senior and youth teams were in action today, with one win and one loss.
The youth team, playoff bound but playing their first game, came away with a resounding 22-0 win away at Leeds Varsity. The senior team's unbeaten run was broken by Yorkshire Rams with a narrow 21-19 win over the Senators.

Gateshead Senators Youth have made the playoffs - without yet playing a game!
Troubles north of the border have given the Senators a quick playoff place as both Highland Wildcats and Clyde Valley Hawks have withdrawn from the league, conceding their games Gateshead. So the Senators go 4-0 while looking forward to their first game away at Leeds on 31 May.

On their first road trip of the 2009 season, Gateshead travelled to Dundee to come out 2 point winners.
This maintains the unbroken winning record, and the senior team now have a week off before travelling to Yorkshire on 31 May. But the Youth team have home action next week at Gateshead Stadium when they host Highland Wildcats, KO 12 noon.

Gateshead Senators chalked up a their second win of the season with an emphatic win over the Mustangs.
The 45-13 home win means the Senators are now 2-0 in their 2009 Division 1 campaign, and in good form for nest week's away game against Dundee Hurricanes.

Yorkshire Rams came to Gateshead to suffer a 20-6 defeat in this first Division 1 game for the Senators.

They went to the Netherlands to take part in the Amsterdam Tournament and won it, beating the tournament hosts Amsterdam Panthers 28 -16

Remembering 'Big Mik'

Easter Sunday marks the fifth anniversary of the loss of Big Mik.
Five years ago this weekend, the Senator Family was shaken by the news of the sudden and tragic death of long time Senator Mickey "Big Mik" Thompson. On a sunny day on a quiet road in Northumberland Mickey came off his motorcycle and was run over by a car coming the other way.
