I had the pleasure of playing linebacker alongside Stevie for the Senators during the earlier years. Great guy with a ferocious attitude for the game. In his prime he was one of the best UK linebackers I ever played, with or against. Should have been a regular in the GB national squad. A great team mate and an even better friend.

I didn't learn of David's problem till just before the game last Sunday. The tenseness of the finish would not have done his heart any good at all and he was in the middle of the offence for Newcastle encouraging them on during the whole game.

Just a quick update on Mr Nimmins. I was shocked when I read about David's heart attack and was quite taken aback. Most will know that David and I did not see eye to eye in the past but we've buried the hatchet and are good friends now. As you know David is trying his hand at coaching Newcastle Students and with his play book (or is it a matchbox cover) they are playing well. What shocks me most is if David has just had a heart attack the game he was at this Sunday 14th Nov will not help, a 20-12 loss with actually 1 second on the game clock left. David, get well soon and we will meet up in the future.

Guys, just want to echo Mr. Nimmins on his thoughts. We are one step away from for what may be for some their last chance at honours before retirement. The family needs to gather round and train like they mean it - the chance is yours for the taking. When you enter the field of play, you have 10 brothers beside you wearing a Senator shirt that deserves to be honoured. It isnt right to just turn up and expect it wear it - you have to earn it. Let's get it together as the website shows, the clock is ticking to gametime!

Guys that played last year know why we lost because no one trained and I'm am sorry but the same superstar mentality seems apparent. For all the old heads we know on our day we can play/beat anyone, so why when we do get to the playoffs we think we don't need to train??? Sorry to sound off but people must know how I am feeling.

In answer to Mike Stubbs's message. Being from the old Senators you are correct, some people do remember you. How ever and can't remember you actually playing - more on the coaching side as you took the first sessions that we had at Gosforth. Yes you are correct RC did play during that first season but again I think most of us treat him as a coach. In case you're not sure who I am , I am the idiot that broke his leg in training before the season started and then watched in vain as the team went 10 - 0.
By the way a good game against Chester, not much of a blood bath as expected by you coaches. In fact I think you only had 1 major now who picked that up.
By the way Rapper you should have kept that 50p from ref, his face was a picture.

Just a quick note to say good luck on Sunday against EKP, this game will be your strongest opposition to date. I know some will say what about Birmingham but you played that game on emotion.
A little tip, don't go all out to get Lee Fraser, because if you do JS will kill you with his running. Might see you for Chester game.

Can anyone spare some room for Saturday night and possibly for Sunday as well for us. Any help would be appreciated.

Shameless plug, I'm getting rid of my video collection. I've put 100 tapes (some from US TV, or Pontel) on eBay containing NFL, NFLE, NCAA football games as well as MLB, NBA etc. Just do a search for 'American football game' and you should find some, then look at 'view seller's other items' for a full list. If anyone wants them I'd be able to deliver saving on postage.

And guess what I got it wrong, you were right the penalty should have been assessed on the 2nd half K/O, this has been given to me by director of training, So please accept my apologies but some people think refs. can not eat humble pie but here's one who is not above admitting his mistake. Fortunately it had no effect on the game, I know that this is no excuse but I did it in what I thought was correct.

What we have done already is just a start, we need to continue this as a group - not the individuals. We are a family in the true sense, the Sunday family. I would like everyone who is there on Sunday to suggest a company, someone they know or just anyone that we can send some information too to try and increase the sponsorship. Cheers for the info Derek but there may be a problem with any raiders players/coaches. We could possibly have a very crucial game that weekend and may decide if we are in the playoffs or not. It is the last week of the season and is at home against cally so we either have to be guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, eliminated from the playoffs or cally to fold or concede the game. If not we won't be able to make it.

We have accommodation provisionally booked for 20 people, it is in a 3 star Hotel and will cost no more that £30 Bed & Breakfast per Man.
Riley is also looking at the rail cost so people don't have to drive so we can all get "spangled" (Riley's words not mine) and not worry about driving back the next day.
