Congratulations on a successful season. One problem with building a winner, it's never good enough. Be proud. For the first time ever, I'm head coach of a local high school (St. Catherine's High School in Racine). We were very young this past season, went 5 wins - 4 losses and just missed the playoffs. Things look good for the future. Brian Erickson played tight end for the Racine Raiders this season. He is not playing linebacker as no one goes two ways. The Raiders are currently in the semi-finals of a tournament now going on. They play this Saturday night and go to Boston if they win and home if they don't. My best to you, Gary Marshall. Good luck with the game next week lads. Great to read that Kev is interested in coaching. Get him on board as soon as you can. you must get those photos off kev for the retro page! Anyone know what became of the past American QB's?
If anyone is looking for kit see Gary as I've just given him all mine. Maybe if theres any explayers with pads etc lying around, and I'm sure we all must know at least one person, we should try and get it down to the club to sell onto new players. The heart might be willing but the body isn't forgiving.

greeting:
Why is the game being played at Blaydon. Its miles from anywhere, miles from public transport, and nowhere near anykind of passing public, where none will see the game played excecpt for ex players. The pitch looks crap and the area is a waste land. Whats happend to the stadium? If that is not available look to elsewhere. Set it up at some kind of park where there will be alot of people passing throught or a venue where its a popular location. Gateshead could always change their location. I'm sure they would find better training grounds and a better place to host matches. This would also attract better crowds and more generate more people to get involved. Which would mean new players and bigger squard for the forcoming season.
Just a few thoughts to start a debate going on UK American football as a whole!
Good luck with the game. Success for the team.

I was reading Trev Atkinson's comments about the old days, and putting some old stuff up on the web site, WELL...
It just so happens that I have a scrap book stuffed full of game reports, pictures, league standings and end of season player standings.
These date back from Washington Pres when Gateshead were Newcastle Senators, up to "The Shak" in 1993 (that was his name...?).
So what do you think?.... I think it would improve the site and give a Buzz to the like of the Wootons, Storeys and not to mention myself.
E mail me if you're interested, it would be good to hear from you anyway.

Gaz, cast your mind back to the late 80's. Remember me? I kicked for the Manchester Allstars, who folded in such a spectacular way in 1990. I still miss those days, especially the characters in the game. Anyway, just to let you know I've been living in Melbourne since 97' and I'll be following your boys this season via the site. Anybody who remembers me who is still alive drop me a line. Hey, and about bloody time you lot won something! Well done lads, you deserved it., a brilliant site- how many clubs have been kept together by people doing things out of sheer love? I MUST try to catch a game or two this season, with my 6 year old Dolphins fan son in tow! I remember trying out for the Trojans in '83 or '84 and getting offered the kickers spot.
