The Priory Church DSJ

To seek God, welcome all, and serve our community.

Worship has taken place in the Priory Church for almost 900 years. Services continue to take place on Sundays and Thursday mornings – click here for details.
The church is open for private prayer, or just to have some quiet time, every day from 10.00am to 5.00pm. Candles may be lit, and there is a prayer board.
For queries regarding the special life-events of Baptisms, Confirmations, Weddings and Blessings, and Funerals, please contact the vicar.

The Priory Church is part of the Welland Local Mission Partnership (LMP). The LMP is a group of local Church of England churches working together to support ministry in the area – which includes Crowland, Deeping St Nicholas, Deeping St James, Market Deeping, Langtoft, Baston and Thurlby.

Support our Church

If you wish to give towards the ongoing ministry of the Priory Church, and the upkeep of our historical building, please click the link. We are very grateful for your donation.

Christian Aid Fundraise

Churches Together in the Deepings join together each year to collect money for Christian Aid to support their valuable work in enabling people in poor circumstances to help themselves out of poverty.

Children’s Church

Children and their parents are very welcome to attend any of our Services. There is an area set aside at the back of church where younger children will find books and toys with which to amuse themselves during the service. However, on the first Sunday in the month we hold a special “child friendly” service in which children are encouraged to take part. On the second Sunday in the month, children are encouraged to attend Children’s Church in the hall. Parents may stay with them, or join the main service in the church.

Safeguarding

Deeping St James Priory Church takes the safeguarding and care of children and vulnerable adults very seriously.
