This song is based on lyrics that Jason posted to the Christian Songwriters Forum mailing list
that had a particular relevance to someone in his family. However, we both thought that it
had a wider scope, although its probably more a generally prayerful song than a song
specifically for worship. But I think it works well.
There is an MP3 file of me (3.2Mb) which you can listen to or download by clicking

Christian Songwriters Group friend Steve Cass also recorded a studio version, an MP3 of which
you can hear or download through Jason Mitchener's website page
Just Passing Through.
Lyrics (by Jason Mitchener and Michael Lehr)
Chorus:
May the Lord light your path
May he guide your every footstep.
May he be with you, remain with you,
And guard you as you go.
May the Lord heal your past
And redeem each present moment.
May he comfort you and strengthen you
And lead you to your home.
Where is your wandering soul tonight?
(Are you lost beneath the heavens?)
Are you weary of longing to be whole?
(Are you lost beneath the stars?)
I simply pray you’ll find a way
To come in from the darkness,
And find your life’s true goal.
May the Lord light your path ….
Do you know someone cares for you?
(As you walk these lonely highways)
Will you see he’s prepared a special place?
(As you walk these lonely roads)
Can you at last release your grasp
On all you think supports you,
And fall into his grace?
May the Lord light your path ….
Come home where love is.
Come home, my friend.
Come home to a final new beginning
And a peace that knows no end.
May the Lord light your path ….
And lead you to your home. (repeat)
