Manchester Maccabi cruised into the Peter Morrison Final thanks to a comfortable 4-2 victory over MAL in the Semi Final. It was MAL who won on penalties in the 1996 Final last time the sides met, but there was no denying Manchester Maccabi this time round. By the time MAL got a penalty, midway through the second half, Maccabi were 3 up, thanks to first half strikes by Martyn Gould and Leon Huller. In the second half Gould completed his hat-trick, before MAL scored a consolation goal in the dying minutes. Maccabi now play Scrabble in the Final at Wingate Stadium, Finchley on Sunday 3rd May, kick off 2.30pm.
Manchester Maccabi Table Tennis Club has taken every honour this season. After cruising to the Bury League 3rd Division title, they clinched the Dwyer Cup in March. Last week, Maccabi faced top flight club Location in the Final of the Bury League Cup. Given little chance, Maccabi turned the form book upside down achieving a 6-3 victory, with Lawrence Gordon winning all 3 of his matches.
Manchester Maccabi Rounders 1st team have begun their league campaign in devasting form, crushing St. Mary's D at Brooklands by a score of 320 to 107. The 2nd team, playing at Ramsbottom, will have to replay as the fading light halted play with just 3 points between the teams. This week's matches sees the two Maccabi teams facing each other in the first local derby of the campaign.
Manchester Maccabi C.C. winners of the National Cricket Cup, start their defence of the trophy at home to Casual Nomads of London. The game is to be played at Flixton C.C. in June. Maccabi beat FZY in last year's final.
