Ashley Hutchings, of Fairport and Steeleye fame, own brainchild in its many different guises has seen performances from over 100 different artists in its long career covering all aspects of folk music from Morris dancing, concept plays and real folk rock. Check out their site.

LINDISFARNE

Another folk rock group from Tyneside well known for classics such as 'Fog on the Tyne', 'Lady Eleanor, 'Run for Home' and 'Clear White Light'. Famous for their Christmas Shows in the 70s and 80s until the sad death of Alan Hull a year or two ago.Check out here!

OYSTERBAND

Another great folk rock band that really puts the rock into folk rock 'The Rambling Irishman' and 'The Curragh of Kildare' as you've never heard them before! Check out their web site.

PEATBOG FAERIES

Yes that's right! Peatbog Faeries are from Skye, more Scottish tunes, all instrumental with pipes and fiddle, their album 'Mellowosity' sums up their style. Check out their web site.

THE POOZIES

A great scottish/english combination all girl group on harps, guitar and accordian, featuring Karen Tweed, Kate Rusby, Patsy Seddon and Mary Macmaster the latter two play as the duo Sileas. For the Poozies web site click Here

RUNRIG

A great group from Scotland Gaelic and English Folk Rock at its best, been playing for some 25 years, very popular in Scotland. the McDonalds write most of their own material much about Scotland's History. Listen to The Cutter and the Clan or Once in a Lifetime plus most of the others to see what Runrig are all about!

STEELEYE SPAN

Steeleye Span, like Fairport Convention are one of the original Folk Rock band started by Ashley (the Guv'nor) Hutchings ex member of Fairport Convention. They featured the Characteristivc voice of Maddy Prior until recently when original vocalist, Gay Woods took over. Check out their Web Site and that of their record company, Park Records

TEMPEST

I came across this American Folk Rock group from a recommendation in the 'rec.music.celtic' newsgroup and checked out their website. Some downloads of their music available there. Well worth the effort.

WATERSON:CARTHY

Family group of exceptional talent comprising Martin Carthy M.B.E., one of the originals of folk rock ex member of Steeleye Span and the Albion Band, together with his wife, Norma Waterson of The Watersons and their talented daughter Eliza. See their site.
