Erica x afroeuropaea

Reddish purple flowers, 4-5mm long borne irregularly through the year, mainly in spring and early summer on glabrous mid-green foliage. Tall, erect habit. A deliberately produced hybrid from Kurt Kramer, Edewecht, Germany, who cross-pollinated Erica arborea var. alpina and E. baccans, a South African heath. The plant is sterile. Ht. > 100cm. Spd. 61-75cm.
