Pale purple (H10) flowers, Aug-Sep, with light green foliage. The new growth is creamy white and red which is retained into the summer and is one of the better spring tip cultivars. Open upright habit. Dutch origin. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 46-60cm.
Numerous magenta (H14) flowers, Aug-Sep, deepening to crimson (H13) with age on mid-green foliage. Broad erect habit similar to 'Carmen' from which it was a sport found by Kurt Kramer of Edewecht, Germany who named it after the first author of a book on heathers in German. Ht. 31-45cm. Lilac pink (H11) flowers, Aug-Sep, with mid-green foliage. Very floriferous. Named after an aunt of Sqn. Ldr. A. Taylor who found it in her garden at Crowborough, East Sussex, England. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 61-75cm.
Pale (H3) lavender flowers, Sep-Dec, with mid-green foliage. Upright habit. A good late cultivar named after the American airman who found the plant in Germany. Ht. 21-25cm. Spd. 31-45cm.
Crimson (H13) flowers, Aug-Oct, with dark green foliage. Same flower colour as 'C.W. Nix', less graceful but more compact. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 31-45cm.
White flowers, Aug-Sep, with mid-green foliage tipped a striking yellow in spring. Compact erect habit. Like all cultivars exhibiting coloured tips in spring, it should be pruned in autumn to obtain maximum effect. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

Double white flowers, Aug-Oct, with mid-green foliage. It is very similar to 'Alba Plena' but the foliage is a little darker and the racemes a little longer on unpruned plants. Propagated by Frances Robertson, nurseryman to Mr. Frye, from the two original branches, it was named after Mrs. Frye, wife of the Professor of Botany at the University of Washington, USA. Double lavender (H3) flowers in very long racemes, Aug-Oct, with grey green foliage in summer turning a drab brown green in winter. Otherwise an outstanding plant. Sport from 'H. E. Beale'. Named after the wife of Ralph Purnell. Progeny: 'Golden Wonder'; 'Monika'; 'Scholje's Gigant'. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 61-75cm.
