Model Railways

I enjoy reading about railways and hope to build a couple of small model dioramas in 2mm Finescale. This is only possible because of the support and products from the

Scale Association I havn't done much model-making lately, but with the recent house-move out of the way there should be more time to get on with it.

Thamesmead Sidings

This is a plan (not to scale) of a layout I started some while ago. It will keep me busy for months to come - I'm a very slow worker. It illustrates one of the advantages of 2mm scale; it is possible to get an interesting layout in a very small space, or a huge amount of railway in the same space as a basic layout in the more usual 4mm scale

The plan represents a corner of a goods yard in an industrial area. Traffic consists of minerals to/from the silos, van traffic for the warehouse and general traffic to the loading bank.

Passenger traffic will have to wait for an extension or another layout.
