The picture above is my first Javelin, shortly after I bought it, in shiny yellow
paint with a bizarre tail fin. The shot below is a few years later, with some rust
starting to show, and my Custom Chrome sidepipes - both sides, fed from a Y-pipe with
Thrush flexi-pipe joining it all together. They looked great, but over-muffled the little
six-cylinder engine somewhat, didn't leave much ground clearance, and were forever needing
cleaning - not really ideal for UK roads with all our salt in winter, the chrome shields
soon rotted away. I ran without the shields for a while, but eventually gave up and
settled for a more conventional exhaust system hidden underneath. I stuck with the fin for
a while longer though, I grew to like it in a way, it was a good talking point if nothing
else! However, that too came off when it was time for a respray and I wanted a more
original look to the car.
