Chapatti Method


Use the basic Roti Dough Recipe and a tawa or griddle heated to high.

  1. Place a ball of dough on a lightly dusted board and sprinkle a very small amount of flour on top
  2. Rollout thinly to about 6ins/15cm.
  3. Place on tawa/griddle
  4. When bubbles appear on upper surface flip over (with fish slice)
  5. When brown spots appear on the underside flip over again
  6. Cook until brown spots appear, pressing it down with fish slice if necessary.
  7. Serve immediately or wrap in foil
