If you have a breadmaker then follow the recipe below, if not just mix up
all the ingredients to a smooth dough, allow it to rise for an hour or two,
knock the air out, shape the naans and cook as instructed below.
Put these ingredients in your breadmaker:
- 3 tbsp natural yoghurt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ¼ pint water
- 12oz white flour
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp dried yeast
- a teaspoon of cumin seeds, if you have some.
- Use basic dough program (the one that lets the dough rise).
- Knock the dough back, divide into 6.
- Roll or stretch the dough into sort-of naan shapes and place (2 or 3 at a time) on a greased baking sheet.
- Place under a HOT (must be pre-heated) grill and cook for 2-3 mins each side, watching the lovely puffy crispy bits appear before your very eyes.
