Chicken Dhansak
Fried off a few potatoes, cut quite small dice and a medium courgette (could use aubergine).
Then when cooked, added half a green pepper, and cooked for another minute.
In a large cast iron pot, heated some
onion oil, and fried off 170g of
chicken breasts, cut into bite sized pieces.
Fried for 5 minutes.
Added dhansak masala spices, and cooked for another minute.
Added fried vegetables, then 125ml of
veg. stock and
250ml cooked lentils.
Heated through, and added half tsp tamarind concentrate and a squeeze of
lemon juice.
Added salt to taste, and served.
Wazza's Comments
Result. Not too hot and slightly tart.
Maybe a little more water would have thinned it a little, but good all round flavour.
