Masala Tea (Spiced Tea)


Masala Tea

Ingredients

(8 servings)

Method

  1. Combine water and milk in a deep pan, and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the spices and sugar. Stir to blend, and turn off the heat.
  3. Cover the pan, and let the spices infuse for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Add the tea leaves or tea bags, and bring the water back to boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes.
  6. Check the colour and taste, adjusting milk and sugar if required.
  7. Strain the tea into a warm teapot, and serve immediately.
(This can be made without milk and sugar - adjust the dry ingredients to taste.)
