Agnes' parentage is currently conjecture, based on looking at records which fit the place and time. Two possible birth records were found for Agnes Hendersone - one in 1745 with parents Robert Hendersone and Jean Johnstone, the other in 1746 with parents William Hendersone and Agnes Miller. Both are in Forgan in Fife. 1745 is perhaps more likely, as it provides a source for her grandson, John Johnstone Smith's middle name.

Agnes married Robert LESLIE, son of Robert LESLY and Elizabeth HONEYMAN, on 19 Sep 1773 in Forgan or Cameron, Fife, Scotland. (Robert LESLIE was christened on 10 Jun 1733 in Cameron, Fife, Scotland and died after 1815.)
