Birth and parentage conjectural at present. Searched IGI for births of Elspeth Scott from 1730 to 1740. Found 2 records for births in Kingsbarns - since their marriage only appears once in IGI, it's likely that they came from the same parish. First record is for Elspet Scot, chr 31 May 1730, father John Scot - that would tie in with possible sons called John, and her name is a closer match than second record, which is for Elizabeth Scot, chr 15 Oct 1732, father James Scot - no obvious tie-in at this point, so using details from first record for now.
Assume must have died after 1774, the year in which her youngest child was born.
