Craigard Hotel Winter Sports
The magnificent Cairngorm Mountain range is only minutes from Craigard and offers guests simply the best skiing available in the UK. The slopes are extensive and provide differing degrees of difficulty so that both the novice and experienced skier are well catered for. Best of all the slopes are uncrowded and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to ski here. This is why the Cairngorm slopes at Aviemore and Lecht have become increasingly popular with overseas visitors. More importantly skiing in Scotland really is all about meeting people, and having great fun.
The recently opened Funnicular railway has replaced the aging ski lifts and ensures skiers enjoy a rapid and comfortable transit from the ski center to the slopes.
Aviemore village is the UK's premier Alpine resort and is a purpose built development that offers a wide range of equipment and specialist services for skiers and snowboarders ranging from equipment purchase and hire through to expert tuition in a range of skiing styles. At night Aviemore offers a range of lively bars, restaurants and clubs to ensure the 'apres ski' is great fun too.
For younger children the lower slopes offer some excellent tobobgan runs.
The ski season at Aviemore and Lecht usually opens late December and continues through untill April, which means that you can ski in the morning and take in a round of golf in the afternoon.
Aviemore is easier to get to than most European destinations with daily flights from Gatwick and Luton and regular train services from all major UK cities. This means that your skiing can be arranged at just a couple of days notice. Best of all becuase the ski season is 'Off Peak' we can offer some great accommodation deals - so give us a call today.
From the hotel we can arrange ski passes, lessons and equipment hire.
Day passes cost in the region of £30, equipment hire costs from around £35. At Craigard we are fortunate enough to have a close relationship with the Norwegian Ski School and so we can offer super discounts on tuition.
During the ski season we are happy to provide 'on the spot' reports of snow conditions to facillitate anyone thinking of taking a short skiing break with us.
